D²iCE Research Centre Launched at UL

D2iCE marked a significant milestone with our official launch by UL Vice President Research & Innovation Professor Kevin Ryan on Thursday, 29 May. The event was organised and hosted by Kemmy Business School’s Associate Professor Mairtín Cunneen who leads the AI Governance and Ethics pillar of D2iCE and Dr. Reenu Mohandas, postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Electronic & Computer Engineering.
The event was attended by Minister James Lawless TD, Chair of the Oireachtas Committee on Artificial Intelligence, who met with researchers and experienced first-hand some of the cutting-edge work being developed at UL.

The official launch was followed by a day of engaging presentations, posters and demonstrations covering all aspects of D2iCE research activity.
